Taiwanese Ambassador visits Minister for Education

MINISTER SHAWN EDWARD THANKED TAIWAN FOR ITS CONTINUED SUPPORT.
The new Taiwanese Ambassador to Saint Lucia, Her Excellency Nicole Su, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology and Vocational Training Hon. Shawn Edward on Thursday March 27.
 
The pair discussed continued bilateral arrangements in education, most specifically Taiwan's support in providing scholarships to Saint Lucians yearly and the country's continued assistance in improving the use of technology within local classrooms.
 
Minister Edward thanked Taiwan for its continued support throughout the many years of bilateral relations and expressed the support of the government to continue working with the Asian country towards the betterment of both Taiwan and Saint Lucia.
 
Taiwan has been instrumental in the provision of several smart classrooms in schools on the island enhancing the country's quality of education delivery.
 
Ambassador Su formally began her tenure on January 29, 2025 succeeding H.E. Peter Chia-Yen Chen. She is the first female ambassador to represent Taiwan in this role.
