SMALL BUSINESSES EXERT CONSIDERABLE INFLUENCE ON SAINT LUCIA'S ECONOMY.
Over 100 small business owners from Laborie village and surrounding areas have officially started the registration process of their businesses. A total of 135 business name searches were conducted, signaling the entrepreneurs’ eagerness to take their businesses to the next level.
The Ministry of Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives, and Consumer Affairs’ Southern Unit, in partnership with TaiwanICDF, organized the two-day event focused on Business Name Search and Registration for entrepreneurs in the Laborie community, under the Community Business Revitalization Project (CBRP).
The event took place on Tuesday, May 27, and Wednesday, May 28 from 5 to 7 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.,respectively, at the Laborie Digital Development ICT Centre.
A crucial aspect of the activity was that all stamp duties and Justice of the Peace fees were paid for those who registered their businesses.
It is widely recognized that small business proprietors exert considerable influence on Saint Lucia's economy through the generation of employment, the invigoration of local markets, and contributions to sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and trade. As a result, this initiative paves the way for business proprietors to improve their operations by strengthening credibility and reputation, which also helps them to secure funding, tax benefits, and various other incentives.
