The Tourist Board aggressively promotes Saint Lucia in the western US.

The Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB) recently attended two adventure travel shows in California. California is one of the top five best performing states for inbound travel to Saint Lucia.

The Los Angeles Travel and Adventure Show, a two-day public and trade event, is billed as one of the largest travel shows in the US, and is a direct-to-consumer travel marketplace which allows travel suppliers to promote their travel brands to thousands of pre-qualified travel enthusiasts looking for their next vacation.

The second, the Bay Area Travel and Adventure Show, is known as the largest show held in northern California.

The SLTB promoted its adventure, niches, hotels, uniqueness and accessibility from California to Saint Lucia at both shows. Over 55 percent of the visitors to the booth considered Saint Lucia as a place to visit, while over 950 registered travel agents influenced trade partners to visit the booth, and consider Saint Lucia as a possible option for clients. When polled, most informed that despite the distance, because satisfactory rates for returning clients were so high, they were willing to consider the island.

To extend the booth presence even further, the SLTB was interviewed by COMCAST TV, San Francisco Radio, FunCheaps SF Paper, KTLA TV, and Los Angeles' the Wave Radio 94.7 FM, all of which were either aired live or will be aired in the upcoming weeks to an estimated total consumer reach of 430,000.

The SLTB also partnered with west coast based wholesale partners Pleasant Holidays and Classic Vacations. Pleasant Holidays now offers specials to Los Angeles from as low as $1,130 and to San Francisco at $1,630, both with air included.

Lorine Charles-St Jules managed SLTB's presence at the events, and enlisted five PASS agents from California throughout the weekends.
