AS ISLAND STATES, TAIWAN AND SAINT LUCIA BOTH RECOGNIZE THE STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE OF BORDER PROTECTION.
Captain Hung-Wei Lin of the Taiwan Coast Guard and Officer Oscar Yang are visiting Saint Lucia. The delegation met with Assistant Superintendent of Police Irvin Alfred, who is the Acting Commander of the Marine Unit of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, and his team. The groups exchanged perspectives on maritime security and explored opportunities for further collaboration.
As island states, Taiwan and Saint Lucia both recognize the strategic importance of maritime border protection in ensuring national security. This bilateral dialogue reflects a mutual commitment to strengthening the longstanding partnership between the two nations, and promoting public safety.
