The program, held in Castries, Micoud and Vieux Fort provides entertainment that can aid tourism and boost sales.
The Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries is providing opportunities for young aspiring artistes to showcase their talents.
On Tuesday, Arcade vendors and patrons were entertained with performances by budding local artistes as part of a National Performing Arts Program.
Ministry Consultant Christopher Hunte, said Tuesday’s event held at the Vendors’ Arcade in Castries was profitable for vendors.
“Today with the cruise ships in, providing entertainment can [aid] tourism and also give the vendors a boost,” he said. “It allows them to perpetuate sales. We also held a modeling activity that displayed many of the clothing items that probably would not get sold. With this activity, the tourists that are here get to see these things.”
The National Performing Arts Program will be on display at the Castries Market every Tuesday. The Program is also being held in Micoud, every Thursday leading up to National Day, while the community of Vieux Fort will host Fete Demarche every Sunday leading up to Independence.
